Terms of Use
Last updated: September 20, 2026
These terms govern your use of the Hejly app and website. By creating an account you agree to them.
Your account
- You need an account to use Hejly. Keep your credentials to yourself; you are responsible for activity under your account.
- You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account.
Subscriptions
- Course content requires the Hejly subscription, purchased either on this website or through Apple's App Store or Google Play.
- Where offered, the free trial converts into a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. Cancel a website subscription from your billing settings, and a store subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings; deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds for store purchases are handled by the store you purchased through, under their policies.
Mistakes in the content, and how to report them
Hejly is language-learning material, and language-learning material is never perfect. Translations, spellings, grammar explanations, example sentences, exercise answers and the generated audio are written and reviewed by people with the help of automated tools, and some of them will be wrong or will not fit the context you have in mind.
- Everything in Hejly is provided for learning purposes only. It is not a certified or authoritative translation, and it is not professional advice. Do not rely on it for legal, medical, official, commercial or other consequential use.
- If something looks wrong, tell us: choose “Report a mistake in the content” on our contact page and say where you saw it. We read every report and correct the content. Reporting is free and always available.
- Because that reporting route exists, correcting a reported mistake is the remedy we offer for it. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible or liable for any loss, exam result, missed opportunity, decision or other consequence arising from a mistake in the content, or from your reliance on it.
Our content belongs to us
All of the material in Hejly — the courses, levels, paths, units, lessons, vocabulary and its translations, conversations, readings, exercises, tests, generated audio, illustrations, images, icons, the mascot, the “hejly” name and wordmark, the design of the app and website, and the software behind them — is owned by Hejly or licensed to us, and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
- Your subscription gives you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to study with the content inside Hejly, for as long as your subscription is active. It transfers no ownership and no right to use the content anywhere else.
- You may not copy, record, download in bulk, scrape, republish, redistribute, share, resell, sublicense, publicly display or perform, translate, adapt, or create derivative works from any part of it, and you may not use it to build another course, product, dataset or service, or to train machine-learning models — whether free or paid, credited or not — without our prior written permission.
- Do not remove, hide or alter our credits or copyright notices, and do not use the Hejly name, wordmark, mascot, illustrations or icons for your own products, courses or promotion.
- Nothing here stops you from using what you learn. The language itself is nobody's property; our particular courses, wording, recordings and artwork are.
- We enforce these rights, and may suspend or close accounts that breach this section.
Fair use of the service
- Hejly is for your personal, non-commercial use. Accounts are individual; do not share yours.
- Do not abuse the service, attempt to break or overload it, work around its limits or access it by automated means.
Content and availability
We work to keep Hejly available and improving, but it is provided “as is”: courses, features and content may change, and short interruptions can happen. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service.
